‘Saturday Night Live’ preview: Expectations for Jamie Foxx, Ne-Yo’s show

Saturday Night Live LogoThe best way that we can describe “Saturday Night Live” this season is with one word: uneven: There have been moments of great hilarity, moments of disappointment, and some moments that have made us want to throw our TV through a window (that entire show with Jeremy Renner as the host). But can “SNL” bounce back this week with one of their best productions of the season? Considering the host and the fact that the holidays are upon us, we are hopeful.

Jamie Foxx, as said previously, knows the comedy game like the back of his hand; not only that, but he also has an Academy Award to his name and has released some hit songs. Is there anything that this guy really can’t do at this point? We’re doubtful, but we are sure of one thing: he is more than capable of anchoring this show.

As for the musical guest, we at least have someone in Ne-Yo who also has some similar talents. Musically, he and Foxx are not that different, and he has a popular song tearing up at the charts at the moment in “Let Me Love You.” While we are already begging and pleading that Jamie does not do a musical monologue like just about every other recent host on the show, we would not be opposed to him and Ne-Yo teaming up for some sort of music-themed sketch for the middle of the show right before “Weekend Update” and his first actual performance. (Hey, if One Direction can do it, so can he.)
