Ratings: ‘Nikita’ season 3 holds on to season high; ‘Last Man Standing’ drops

NikitaWith no good news to pass along this week courtesy of “Shark Tank” (which stupidly ran on Tuesday night this week in one of ABC’s greatest examples yet of overthinking their schedule), we’ll instead have to just pass along some ratings news that is merely okay.

With that, we turn to “Nikita,” which kept its season-high rating of 0.4 last week for an all-new episode. While we were almost sure that Maggie Q and company would be going off to the guillotine earlier this fall, we’re not quite so sure now that a season 4 is too far out of the realm of possibility. After all, the show’s numbers are not any worse than “90210” or “Gossip Girl,” and it’s airing on the worst night for TV during the week. Plus, it’s only a step down from a show in “Beauty and the Beast” (nominated here for one of the worst of 2012) that airs after “The Vampire Diaries.” “Nikita” needs another 22 episodes to reach the syndication threshold, and you at least know what you are going to get out of it.

Elsewhere, there were drops aplenty: “Last Man Standing” and “Malibu Country” each fell to 1.4 ratings, and everything on CBS Friday night, whether it be “Undercover Boss” (1.6), “CSI: NY” (1.4), and “Blue Bloods” (1.4) was off at least a tenth in the demo from where they were the previous week. These numbers aren’t great, but at least they are a step up from when CBS was floundering earlier this year with “Made in Jersey” in their lineup.

What do you think about the ratings for “Nikita,” and are you starting to get excited about season 4 prospects? Be sure to share some of your thoughts with a comment below!
