‘Modern Family’: Sarah Hyland supports Ariel Winter through family drama
“Modern Family” star Ariel Winter is having a difficult time in her personal life right now after a judge granted Ariel’s older sister, Shanelle Gray, temporary guardianship over Ariel last month because the Los Angeles County Department of Child and Family Services say they found evidence that Ariel’s mother, Chrisoula Workman, was emotionally abusive towards her.
Although Ariel’s going through some pretty heavy stuff for a 14 year old who also has a full time job working on one of the biggest shows on television at the moment, she not only has the support of her real life family behind her (her sister), but she also has the support of her onscreen family. Sarah Hyland, who plays Ariel’s older sister on “Modern Family” tells E! Online that she thinks of Ariel as family and only wants the best for her. She said:
“Ariel is like a little sister to me. I love her to death and try to talk to her every week at least [or] I try to text her because we haven’t been working right now. I just want the best for her. I’m just trying to watch out for her.”
Lucky for Ariel “Modern Family” isn’t filming right now, so she has a bit of a break to deal with what’s going on in her family life. There are new episodes of the series airing right now, with the next new episode coming up tonight at 9 p.m. on ABC.
