‘Supernatural’ season 8, episode 9 preview: Let’s talk about Benny

SupernaturalSam and Dean have a new mission on Wednesday night’s new “Supernatural” season 8 episode, and it is going to be one that feels rather close at home to Dean more so than it will Sam. Why? Let’s just say that a certain friend from his purgatory experience is going to be making a return appearance.

In the preview below from the episode (which is entitled “Citizen Fang”), Jared Padalecki’s character informs his brother that they got a call out of Louisiana, saying that there has been a local vampire kill. This alone makes Dean suspicious, but it also feels like he is acting in defense mode when he learns that the person who made the call is none other than Marvin. As you may recall, Marvin has spent some time locked up in an asylum, so he may not be the most reliable source of information.

What really makes this even more interesting is what comes next: that even with his current state in mind, Sam still assigned the guy to keep tracks on Dean’s old vampire pal Benny. At the moment, Ty Olsson’s character seems to firmly be the only one possibly responsible for the crime. Dean agrees that the two should check out the scene, but you still have to wonder just how willing a participant he is going to be in the process. We have already scooped that Dean could at first try to defend the guy even in spite of everything they have been through, and this could lead to some always-engaging Winchester tension.

What do you think about this clip, and is Benny in your mind the sole suspect? Remember, this is “Supernatural,” and there is always something more to the story. If you want to find out some more casting time on an upcoming time-travel episode, you can do so over here.
