‘Homeland’ season 2 spoilers: A move of passion … or desperation

“Homeland” season 2 has been a tad more polarizing than the show’s first year, as we have seen Carrie and Brody making moves towards being together over the past several weeks, something that we never imagined would happen again after what we saw the first time around. However, it’s also easy to make the argument that unlike last time, these moves are not really being made with the most romantic of intentions. Carrie wants Brody to stay calm and do the mission properly; and while she is obviously still letting her feelings get involved, these sort of moves are allowing Damian Lewis’ character to have the trust he needs to not deviate from the plan.

So what happens next? (Spoiler alert!) Well, let’s just say that the two could be taking their relationship to the next level on Sunday night. According to E! News, there will be a much more intimate encounter between the two parties this time around, but it will be done with the same sort of reason in mind: to make Brody feel empowered so he does not keep losing his cool.

As for what could be the buildup to this manipulative motive of passion, we’re pretty sure it lies in the video here, which shows Brody proclaiming to Roya that he wants out rather than being pulled into a situation regarding a terrorist attack on American soil … especially since he is being kept in the dark on some of the finer details. Is keeping Brody close to Abu Nazir really the right idea, though? Considering how long the terrorists had him captive, they may have him so indoctrinated that the right words here and there could be enough to ensure that he just straight back into bed with them. (In this case, we’re speaking figuratively.)

Do you think having Brody and Carrie together again is a good or bad idea for “Homeland”?
