‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 8 spoilers: First video of ‘True Blood’ star’s return

Back before he became an overnight success story as Alcide on “True Blood,” Joe Manganiello was an actor known for making guest-starring appearances on other shows … including a brief stop on “How I Met Your Mother” as Marshall’s old law-school buddy Brad.

The good news? On Monday night’s all-new episode, we are going to see Brad back with not only some extra facial hair … but also a belly! Yes, times have changed rather dramatically for both Manganiello and his character, who is going to be looking for a job at the same law firm Marshall is at, and with a pretty strong recommendation from Jason Segel’s character in the process.

So how does Brad’s job interview go? Let’s just say that it is a little bit of a disaster courtesy of Brad’s rantings about how most of the opinions that he has formulated on an important legal case  come from other sources; not only will make him look like an idiot, but also start to make his boss question why Marshall would ever recommend such a guy to the company who bases his key choices on what his psychic tells him to do. Hopefully, this will not lead into the guy getting into too much trouble with his boss, mostly because we already know how difficult it was for him to land this job to begin with.

As for the rest of the episode, not much about the story is clear save for that Barney is going to start looking for a new gentleman’s club to call home; and strangely, Robin is going to feel almost indebted to him after he helped her break things off with Nick when the going got tough.
