‘Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars’ review: Did Kirstie Alley survive elimination?
It’s been a tough season on “Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars,” but there is one thing that has continually surprised us: the stars that the voting public choose to send home. Bristol Palin lasted longer than anyone would have predicted, and Drew Lachey, Helio Castroneves, and Sabrina Bryan are just some of the celebrities who went home far earlier than anyone expected.
So was Kirstie Alley’s time on the show finally up this week after so many weeks of low scores? Unlike the last results show two weeks ago, she was not spared by any of the results early on in the episode, as the first two stars to be declared safe were Shawn Johnson and Melissa Rycroft, who was really the star of the past two weeks thanks to some perfect scores and a victory in the dance marathon with Tony Dovolani.
However, this is where the road ended for Kirstie and Maksim Chmerkovskiy. The two were the first couple eliminated on the night over Kelly Monaco and Val Chmerkovskiy, and thus we now have to wait another season before seeing if Maks will ever have a shot at winning his first-ever Mirrorball Trophy. (For now, though, he’ll probably support his brother along with his pal Tony.)
As for the second elimination on the night, it really came down to just three stars: Gilles Marini, Emmitt Smith, and Apolo Anton Ohno. The moment that this lineup was announced, the writing was on the wall for the Olympian … or was it? In a stunning elimination on par with Sabrina’s exit, Gilles went home before the finale this year. Sadly, the show has now lost its best male dancer.
Do you think that the right person went home this week?
