‘Downton Abbey’ season 3: PBS to air pre-show special in America
While viewers in the United Kingdom have already had the pleasure of watching all eight episodes of “Downton Abbey” season 3, fans in the United States are still waiting patiently for the show to debut on PBS early next year. It’s a long wait, especially for some of them who want to avoid spoilers about what actually transpires.
Are you going to be enter this season new? If so, PBS (who is probably thrilled with the result of the Presidential election) is offering you an opportunity to do just that. On Sunday, November 25, the network will air “Downton Abbey Revisited,” a show featuring a behind-the-scenes look at the first two season of the show, featuring interviews with not just the cast, but also the creative team responsible for making these shows into hits to begin with. In addition to all of this, there will also be some new footage from the production of the series. Angela Lansbury, who is an avid fan of the show (and for good reason), will serve as the host.
“Downton Abbey” season 3 premieres in full on Sunday, January 6, for those of you hoping that the series will someday actually air simultaneously around the world, star Hugh Bonneville has already said that this is something that he is very much in favor of. However, that is unlikely to happen over this show’s run, especially when you recall that season 4 could be the last for the show thanks to their desire to end this before the series starts to lose some of its momentum.
Do you think that this is a smart idea for PBS, and are you going to watch this special? Be sure to share some more of your thoughts, and we will have more scoop on all things “Downton Abbey” moving forward.

I wish the show would go on forever. It is the BEST series I have yet
seen on television.
Please, at least a season 4, so we can prepare for the withdrawals to follow!
