‘The X Factor’ USA notes: Emblem3, CeCe Frey, and Britney Spears

The second “X Factor” USA live show is set to air on Wednesday night, but before we get to that, why don’t we preview the show with some of what is coming up for the acts and one of the judges?

We are going to kick things off here with one of the current favorites to win the whole show in Emblem3, and judging from what the group wrote on their Twitter account on Tuesday, it appears that their performance is undergoing some last-minute changes. What happened? It could have been an issue of a song not getting cleared for television, or some extra choreography that was added to shake things up a bit. As we wrote in our rankings, we hope that these guys have been watching back their performance of “One Day,” and relishing the positives while also looking at some of the things that they could improve upon vocally. If they show a drive to constantly get better, they could be $5 million richer by the end of this year.

Demi Lovato’s support – Do you want to know just how involved the judges, especially Demi, are in preparing the performances for the live shows? For some evidence of this, just look at what CeCe Frey is telling Wetpaint on this subject in a new interview from the top 12 party.

“I just think that not many people would expect her to be so hands-on with us. They don’t expect any of the mentors to be so hands-on and I really think that she’s the most hands-on out of all of them. We always see her, she’s always checking up on us and listening to us perform, and she really takes an active part in saying ‘okay, this is what we need to fix. And what do you want — what do you want as an artist?'”

If CeCe wants to last for another week, she will need to find a way to balance that entertainment quality that she possesses with some strong vocals, which she really showed off during her save-me song last week during the results show.

All about Britney – We will close things off here with some good news coming in from Britney Spears: if she has it her way, she will be back for season 3. Speaking in an interview with “Extra” earlier this week, she said “yes” when asked point-blank if she wanted to stay on the show moving forward. As for whether or not Fox wants to pay her $15 million for the show’s so-so ratings, that is a very different story.
