Bright and early this morning, NBC announced the official Golden Globes nominations, and let’s just say that it wasn’t the best morning ever for network TV. While we’ll go into a list of specific snubs later, there isn’t any love here really at all for any broadcast networks … ironic, given that the show airs on one. Instead, programs like The Morning Show, Succession, and Big Little Lies largely took center stage as the Hollywood Foreign Press sided with big-name stars over more traditional TV fare.
Check out the nominations below, with a few little reactions spread throughout.
Big Little Lies
The Morning Show
Quick Take: Did anyone else feel like Big Little Lies season 2, performances aside, wasn’t that great?
Brian Cox, Succession
Kit Harington, Game of Thrones
Rami Malek, Mr. Robot
Tobias Menzies, The Crown
Billy Porter, Pose
Jennifer Aniston, The Morning Show
Olivia Colman, The Crown
Jodie Comer, Killing Eve
Nicole Kidman, Big Little Lies

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
Christina Applegate, Dead to Me
Rachel Brosnahan, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
Kirsten Dunst, On Becoming a God in Central Florida
Natasha Lyonne, Russian Doll
Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Fleabag
Nice nod in here for Dunst, someone who we didn’t have listed as someone we seriously expected to garner attention.
Michael Douglas, The Kominsky Method
Bill Hader, Barry
Ben Platt, The Politician
Paul Rudd, Living With Yourself
Ramy Youssef, Ramy
Consider Rudd’s nomination more evidence that playing against yourself as an actor is a great way to get a nod.
The Loudest Voice
TV Movie/Miniseries Actor
Christopher Abbott, Catch-22
Sacha Baron Cohen, The Spy
Jared Harris, Chernobyl
Russell Crowe, The Loudest Voice
Sam Rockwell, Fosse/Verdon
TV Movie/Miniseries Actress
Kaitlyn Dever, Unbelievable
Joey King, The Act
Helen Mirren, Catherine the Great
Merritt Wever, Unbelievable
Michelle Williams, Fosse/Verdon
In between Tim Allen’s presence this morning and Dever’s nomination, Last Man Standing was a part of the Globes this morning on two different occasions.
Alan Arkin, The Kominsky Method
Kieran Culkin, Succession
Andrew Scott, Fleabag
Stellan Skarsgard, Chernobyl
Henry Winkler, Barry
Remember that the Globes lump every genre into the same category — it’s awful. Yet, clearly they aren’t changing it.
Patricia Arquette, The Act
Helena Bonham Carter, The Crown
Toni Collette, Unbelievable
Meryl Streep, Big Little Lies
Emily Watson, Chernobyl
