Crisis on Infinite Earths sneak peek: The team-up on Earth-38

Come tomorrow night on The CW, Crisis on Infinite Earths, Part 1 is here … and we don’t have to tell you how important this is. We’re speaking about the most ambitious crossover of all time, one that features six different shows and countless characters across five different episodes.

In the sneak peek below, you can at least see a number of different characters coming together. Think along the lines of Oliver Queen, Supergirl, Superman, Batwoman, and many others. They’re all gathered there by Harbinger with the explicit purpose of preparing them for the last line of defense. Earth-38 is where they are all making their stand against the waves of anti-matter, ones that have the potential to wipe a number of different parts of the universe from existence.

It’s clear almost right away for these heroes that they’re going to need some help, and Harbinger responds to that by bringing on board three other familiar faces — think along the lines of The Atom, White Canary, and The Flash. It’s nice to see that the Legends are involved in the crossover this year, and they’re also actually in their real super-suits. It’s really not something that we got all that much from them on this past season of the show.

Given that Part 1 of the crossover is explicitly a Supergirl episode, we imagine that a lot of those characters are going to take center stage there one way or another. From there, we wouldn’t be shocked if the show moves most of the action over to Earth-1. To go along with that, we also have a feeling that a number of other familiar faces will start to populate this world. Black Lightning, for example, is one who won’t appear until the third part of the crossover. Kevin Conroy, meanwhile, will be appearing as Bruce Wayne in the upcoming second part of the event.

All in all, let’s hope for action, adventure, drama, and probably some heartache — all of these constitute what this crossover does best.
