Let’s go ahead and get the bad news out of the way now — there is no new episode now. To go along with that, there’s also no new episode next week, either. The series is off until January, where it’s also going to be moving back to a new timeslot in 9:00 p.m. Eastern following Station 19. What’s the reason for that? It’s a way, for starters, for us to have more inter-connectivity between the shows. There will be a crossover right away, and there could be some more after the fact.
But in terms of big Grey’s Anatomy stories specifically, one of the most interesting ones is going to be seeing how Amelia handles the news that Link may not be the father of her unborn baby. Instead, it could be Owen! That will cause a lot of chaos, especially when you consider that he is moving forward with Teddy and it seems as though he is at somewhat closer to committing with her. Yet, this is Owen — this is a man who constantly swims in a sea of indecision.
Meanwhile, Meredith is going to have to get used to being back at the hospital, Schmidt’s going to work to get forgiveness of his fellow interns, and Bailey needs to handle the heartbreaking miscarriage. She also has to contend with the horrific possibility that something happened to Ben in the car incident at the bar.
Let’s hope that in the second half of the season, more characters find true happiness — yet, at the same time we know that this is Grey’s Anatomy. This is a world where happy things don’t always happen to the characters we love.
