Better Call Saul season 5 photo: The latest on Kim Wexler

Better Call Saul season 5 is going to be premiering on AMC come Sunday, February 23, and there are a lot of different stories to be excited about. For Jimmy McGill, a big part of it is going to be getting a chance in order to see him take on the persona of Saul Goodman in a more permanent capacity. Meanwhile, For Kim Wexler, it’s going to be seeing just how she feels about it.

We know that Kim has feelings for Jimmy — yet, she also has concerns. Some of those said concerns are probably going to be escalated courtesy of seeing his transformation into Saul. It may be too much for her, and for us, one of our larger points of curiosity in season 5 is going to be learning whether or not Kim has a breaking point — and then what happens in the event she does.

One of the things that is fairly interesting about the newly-released photo is that it feels as though it could take place almost immediately after the events of season 4. Kim is clearly in front of a room at the New Mexico State Bar, and she may be reeling and/or dealing with all sorts of frustrations that come with Jimmy working so hard to get back, only to change his name. It’s a lot for her to take in, and it does look as though she is clearly in thought.

The truth is, Kim’s not mentioned in Breaking Bad. Because of that, we do have to go ahead and assume that things between her and Jimmy are not going to work out all that well. It’s possible that she stays in New Mexico and the two are just not on speaking terms. Or, who knows? Maybe she ends up elsewhere and that’s the end of it … unless she does somehow end up in Omaha down the road. A big part of us is crossing our fingers and hoping for that.
