The Good Doctor season 3 episode 9 sneak peek: Shaun’s proclamation
Of course, there are a lot of different ways that he could’ve delivered this news … and what he decided on may definitely be seen as questionable. In the sneak peek below (via Entertainment Weekly), you can see Freddie Highmore’s character confess to Carly that he would like to have sex later on in the day, while delivering flowers to her lab. Here’s where things get a little bit awkward — Shaun delivers this proclamation seemingly in earshot of some of her pathology colleagues, who seem to have a little bit of fun with the news.
Yet, Carly doesn’t seem too fazed by the timing of Shaun’s announcement — she understands what it means for him to say this, and she’s also ready to take another step in their relationship. This will be a cornerstone to this upcoming episode, but she probably has to recognize along the way that not everything is going to go according to plan. This episode will give at least a good sense of where these two characters are in their relationship, plus where they can go. So long as there aren’t any enormous expectations or pressure here, we’ve got a feeling that they can continue to improve their bond from here.
There is one thing left to recall as we inch closer and closer to this episode — we’re close to the fall finale. That’s where almost all of the drama is going to reach its peak and with that, we have a feeling that all stories will be continued until we get to that point. That includes what is going on with Claire, as a one-night stand ends up becoming a patient. The other twist? This patient just so happens to be married and has a family. Shaun’s situation may be challenging, but this one is bigger than just a couple of people.
