Station 19 season 3 premiere date; Grey’s Anatomy swapping timeslots

Station 19

Today ABC officially released their midseason schedule, and let’s just say that there are a number of different surprised mixed in.

For starters, how about we spend a moment commenting on the fact that Station 19 and Grey’s Anatomy are going to be swapping out timeslots? For the entirety of the firefighter drama’s run, it has aired at some point after the flagship show rather than before. Yet, when Station 19 premieres on January 23, it will be doing so at a new timeslot in 8:00 p.m. Eastern. Grey’s Anatomy, meanwhile, will be airing an hour later at 9:00. The two shows will return with some sort of epic crossover event, and we imagine that there are going to be a few other different events, as well, as the season progresses on.

Below, you can check out all of the different midseason premieres for ABC. Just remember as you read along here that all times listed are Eastern Standard. For more, check out our official Premiere Guide.

10:00 – How to Get Away with Murder

The biggest surprise, other than the aforementioned schedule swap, is seeing How to Get Away with Murder as a series shoved so far out there in terms of its return. We’re basically going to be in a situation here where the Viola Davis series is gone for almost five months, and right in the middle of its final season. What gives with that? Consider this one of those mysteries that we’re going to have a hard time figuring out — beyond just that ABC doesn’t really care about its ratings since we are close to the end of the road for it.
