Outlander season 6: Caitriona Balfe on show’s future, filming return date
Today, Caitriona did a Q&A session with fans on social media where she went through a number of different topics. What was one of the most notable ones? Just think in terms of the following…
1. She is going to remain on as a producer for season 6 – None of that feels like a surprise. She and Sam Heughan first took on the role for season 5 and it’s allowed them an opportunity to have more responsibility behind the scenes and role in the overall direction of the story. Given how well she and Sam know Claire and Jamie, this is just something that makes a whole lot of sense in our eyes.
2. She doesn’t know for sure when filming will begin – Caitriona notes that it could be May before production starts back up on season 6 — really, it’s whenever the scripts are ready. Yet, as of this time there’s no guarantee that this will be the case. (With this in mind, prepare for a Droughtlander — production for season 5 started in April, so having something more happen in May feels to be fairly reasonable.)
3. She has no plans to leave – We know that there are a lot of concerns out there that Sam or Caitriona could move on to other things rather than continuing to play out the story, but she did her part to reassure that this is not the case. She made it clear that she plans on staying as long as viewers still want to see the cast and enjoy watching them.
What do you want to see the most when it comes to Outlander seasons 5 and 6 for Caitriona Balfe?
