We’re not too far away now from the December 4 launch of Vikings season 6 on History. With that in mind, we come bearing a new video featuring many of the cast and crew!
In the video below, you can see Katheryn Winnick, Alexander Ludwig, and more speak out about what is going to be an exciting-but-different batch of stories that are coming up. The first half of the season seems to be in particular all about Bjorn — this is a man who is stepping into all-new territory as King, and he has to figure out both who he wants to be and also how he wants to rule. Suffice it to say, he has no real interest in doing it the same exact way that Ivar did. He recognizes the different ways that exist in order to have a legacy and he seems to be rather eager to embrace some of that.
Meanwhile, Winnick notes now that for Lagertha, there are some different goals that she has, as well — as famous and as formidable as she may be, you could see this character retreating somewhat from the notoriety. Instead, she may be trying to chase down a feeling of happiness. Yet, we imagine that a part of the problem here stems from how Lagertha was happiest when Ragnar was alive … and he’s not now. That complicates pretty much everything when it comes to the story ahead.
For those wondering about Ivar, rest assured that his story is far from over. He may not have all of the power that he did at points in season 5, but his story will be heading in some fascinating new directions as this show continues to expand this world. This time around, we’re going to be venturing more into Russia and getting a chance to experience the ruthlessness of some of the rulers there.
In the end, let’s be clear here: There is a lot of exciting stuff to prepare for through the end of Vikings as a series. Let’s just hope that the show lives up to the expectations that we have after so long and incredible a journey.
