This Is Us season 4 episode 10 return date hopes on NBC
The obvious bad news is that tonight’s new episode is the last one for the calendar year — it’s been promoted as a fall finale for a reason! This is a show that tends to air most of its episodes in batches — we get one in the fall and the another in the winter/early spring. There is no confirmed premiere date yet for the second half of episodes, but according to The Futon Critic, new episodes will resume on Tuesday, January 14 — once we have more confirmation on that subject, we will absolutely have an update for you here.
As for what you can expect to see through some of these upcoming stories, a lot of it begins with getting a chance to learn more about connecting the present to the future. There are a number of mysteries that remain about Kate, about Nicky, and about Kevin and his romantic future. There are also a lot of emotional challenges that the family has to take on.
Are there happy endings coming? That is a difficult question to answer within this context, mostly because it doesn’t feel like This Is Us fully agrees with the concept of “ending” in the slightest. Instead, you just have various points in these characters’ lives that are focused on. You could’ve argued that This Is Us as a series would conclude with Rebecca’s death (she seems to be on her deathbed in flash-forwards), but we’ve seemingly jumped beyond that already with the timeline of an adult Jack finding success as a musician.
In the end, we can’t necessarily think of This Is Us as a story with a clear end — there are just events and questions. Maybe some of those will be answered, whereas others will linger on as a part of the great mystery of life. We just hope that the show remains as touching and heartwarming as it has always been.
Update: It has been confirmed — January 14 is the return date!
