Chicago Fire season 8 fall finale sneak peek: How Dawson returns
Could there also be romance? With Dawson back in the Windy City, it doesn’t feel like that is necessarily something that can be ruled out … and it’s also the subject of a new sneak peek. If you look below (via Entertainment Weekly), you can see a little bit of fun banter between Gabby and some of her friends in Firehouse 51 before eventually getting a chance to speak with Casey one-on-one. Here, she explains why she is back in town — there is a gala happening in Chicago, one that the company she works with wanted her around for. Sometimes, donors choose to give more when they are “rubbing elbows” with aid workers who are out in the field and seeing everything first-hand. This is a chance for the two to reconnect, and it definitely doesn’t seem as though there is any discord between Dawson and Casey.
Will something happen between the two romantically, or will Dawson pull a little magic to get Brett and Casey closer together? All possibilities are on the table during this episode, especially since there’s been a little bit of distance now from their split. It’s hard to know what sort of feelings are going to come out of the two being back around each other. They did love each other very much, but we certainly think it hurt Casey that Dawson wanted to leave Chicago to find her calling elsewhere. He does still respect and care for her, though, and those feelings that he had certainly are still there.
All in all, be prepared for some surprises and big moments — and also some sort of a cliffhanger! Even if it’s not related to Dawson or Casey in some sort of way, One Chicago wouldn’t be the franchise that it is if everything just concluded with all of the characters sitting around and smiling at each other. Things have a tendency to be a little more shocking than that.
