Ray Donovan season 7 episode 2 promo: Ray deals with death

As we prepare for Ray Donovan season 7 episode 2 airing next week, we know that there’s a heavy strain on Ray. How can there not be? We’re talking here about a guy who has endured a lot of different stuff, but the big stuff includes the recent death of his father Mickey. This is going to be a lot for him to take him, and that’s even accounting for the fact that the two of them did not have the best relationship.

So where are we going to see the Showtime drama go from here? Well, we do think that there are even more highs and lows coming as Ray has to continue digging to the best of his ability in order to both mourn while also resolving the incident from the end of this past season — one that could put the entire family in danger. We get this feeling that the title character wants to be a new Ray this season, someone who looks and perceives the world a little bit differently.

Yet, we’re not altogether sure that this is sustainable just yet. Ray’s a character who has endured a lot of struggle and heartache and when you deal with that, there can be a buildup of a lot of pain. This is as strong of a motivator as you’re going to see in order to act quickly and also violently if you’ve got a vendetta.

So is Mickey actually dead? We’re not so sure he is, but for the time being, what matters is what Ray believes. After all, this will serve in some way as his driving force through the rest of the season.
