There’s a lot to sort through before we get around to Grey’s Anatomy season 16 episode 9 airing on ABC this coming Thursday. Take, for example, the aftermath of Meredith and DeLuca’s “breakup” — if they really are done for good. Or, the idea that Miranda Bailey could be in jeopardy.

It’s the Bailey part of this that leaves us at the moment the most distraught, and for good reason. After all, the end of the promo below focuses on Ben Warren running, almost as though he is desperate to save someone he cares about. Sure, this would be the sort of urgency that a first responder would have towards anyone … and that’s what makes this such a delicate situation.
One way or another, don’t be shocked if there is some sort of huge cliffhanger at the end of the episode. This is a way to ensure even further that there are some big things to be concerned about over the course of the upcoming hiatus, let alone also the big premiere of Station 19 this January. That is another interesting thing to ponder over when you think about it — if something happens to Bailey, we’re going to want to see things from Ben’s side, as well.
As for what else could be coming in the upcoming crossover, be prepared for there to be some interesting blowback coming the way of Schmidt. Many of the interns at the moment seem to be ostracizing him over what happened with Meredith at the end of this past episode, but we don’t think he meant anything malicious or harmful at all. Hopefully, what we’re seeing here is an instance of people reacting in the moment, and this isn’t going to be something that sticks around forever.
