Outlander season 5 casting spoilers: Meet Isaiah, the Browns!

Outlander season 4Excited for Outlander season 5 to premiere on Starz? Well, consider the following another welcome dose of hype.

Fresh off of some of the casting news that was revealed earlier this week, we can now announce some other notable names that are coming on board the show! The characters we are talking about this time around are Isaiah Morton alongside the Browns: Lionel, Richard, and Alicia. (Warning: Book spoilers ahead.)

In the source material The Fiery Cross, we meet Isaiah for the first time. He is a man who ends up having a relationship with Alicia Brown while married to someone else. Lionel is Alicia’s father and Richard her uncle — let’s just say that Richard and Lionel don’t take too kindly to some of what transpired here.  These characters will have involvement with a number of familiar faces within the fifth season, and some of them could end up having a role to play in season 6, as well.

As for some of the actors playing the parts…

Jon Tarcy – The UK actor, who has done a flurry of Shakespeare productions, will be taking on the role of Isaiah.

Ned Dennehy – The man behind Lionel has quite the recent TV resume, having appeared in Good OmensDublin Murders, and Peaky Blinders. With so many fantastic recent credits to his name, it makes us wonder if Lionel could be a pretty large role on the show.

Chris Larkin – Larkin, who will be playing Richard, has appeared on a number of notable shows already including Doctor Who and then also Black Sails, another series that aired on Starz.

Anna Burnett – Finally, the former Ripper Street actress will be taking on the role of Alicia.

We imagine that one of the reasons for these announcements now is that with filming wrapping up, it’s easier to put the news out there. There’s less of a concern now about people seeing them around set and trying to guess and/or extrapolate who they may be playing or what the larger role is going to be in the story. While it definitely is true that  Outlander is based primarily on a book seires, there are still spoiler-fears in terms of what moments from the books will be included.
