The Flash season 6 has taken its time introducing Sue Dearbon into the world, but here is the good news — the wait is coming to an end!
According to a new report via TVLine, you’re going to have a chance to see Natalie Dreyfuss, someone who has a history working with The CW already due to The Originals, come on board as the aforementioned character. What is so important to note here is that in the comics, Sue eventually becomes Sue Dibny, wife to Ralph Dibny a.k.a. Elongated Man.
So what makes Sue so important beyond just her future story potential? Well, for starters, she’s a part of one of Central City’s wealthiest families, which does raise all sorts of questions as to why she would move away from that life in order to spend some time with a guy who doesn’t exactly roll with that sort of crowd. (Granted, it was hard to imagine the Ralph we first met on the show being with almost anyone at all.)
There are some other questions and/or mysteries still to be uncovered with Sue Dearbon, but unfortunately, you’re going to be waiting for a good while in order to see them. It doesn’t appear as though this character is going to be appearing on the series in a larger capacity until after we make it through the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover. In between the Killer Frost story arc, Bloodwork as a villain, and Barry preparing for what he believes to be impending death, there’s already a lot of other stuff going on right now — that’s without even mentioning the fact that Ralph and others are working to prepare for more responsibilities in the event that Barry is gone.
No matter how Sue is presented on the series, let’s just hope that she is every bit as exciting and dynamic as we think that she could be. It feels already like on the surface, there is a lot of great stuff to like here!
