The Grey’s Anatomy 350th episode on Thursday delivered all sorts of fantastic, meaningful moments. It was also stuffed full of a lot of nostalgia, as there were clips from the past included throughout as Meredith awaited news about her medical license. There was also a physical reminder of Derek’s death present in the form of the doctor responsible for what happened to him at the hospital. That doctor died himself during the episode, as a confrontation at the hearing between him and Meredith led to a medical episode on the spot.
Yet, one of the elements that we’re the most curious about has to do with Cristina Yang — who had a role in the special, even if it wasn’t a physical one. Tonight, we saw a letter read out to the jury courtesy of Alex Karev, one that spoke highly of Meredith and her achievements as a doctor. This may have been one of the things (coupled with Miranda Bailey’s support) that led to Meredith getting her license back. Victory … and a much-deserved one when the dust settled.

We do wonder if there was at one point a plan to bring Sandra Oh for this episode, given that there were rumors surrounding a returning cast member at one point. It would’ve worked for her to pop in here, but we’re not sure at this point if she will ever be seen again. Sandra is rather busy thanks to Killing Eve, and sometimes cast members don’t come back to the shows that they were once a part of.
Now, we just have to hope for a 400th episode of Grey’s Anatomy down the road. There’s no telling if we’ll get a chance to see some other big surprises then, but we have to wait in order for that to happen first.
