Is Greenleaf new tonight on OWN? Return date talk and more
Let’s just go ahead now and hand down the bad news right now — there IS no new episode of the series coming on tonight. What’s the reason for that? It’s really as simple as the fact that last week was the midseason finale! That episode was cultivated to be the final one of the year for a reason, and that’s why you got that big mystery in the closing seconds. (Who was that guy?) The producers obviously want you to be discussing various elements of the show over the next several weeks; that way, it makes the remaining episodes all the more compelling.
So as for when you can expect some of those particular episodes to air, just think in terms of the new year. There is no specific return date just yet, but signs point to OWN not making you wait too long. There are a number of reasons to think why they would want the show as early as January. Just think like this — that is when there are the most viewers around, especially because of some of the cooler temperatures that are out there.
In the end, we expect more details, including previews and so much more, to turn up over the course of the next few weeks. Keep your eyes peeled from that, and we’re also hoping that there will be some more good news unleashed down the line regarding whether or not there’s going to be a Greenleaf season 5, as well. We want to remain hopeful for that, especially since there is such a following out there. Sure, it does well in terms of the live ratings, but that’s without even considering how it does with DVR viewership or online after the fact. There’s also a uniqueness to the series — there aren’t too many shows out there quite like it!
What we’re trying to say here is rather simple: There is a lot to look forward to in the new year.
