There’s some big-time drama coming on The Rookie season 2 episode 8, and then there’s this: It’s John Nolan’s birthday! That should be the sort of occasion worthy of celebration … right? Well, that’s at least how it would appear to be on the surface.
Yet, things for Nolan won’t go exactly as he planed. Take, for example, what he’s tasked to do on next week’s episode — having to watch over a crime scene while some other detectives and officers do their work. He won’t have a chance to run a lot of the action himself and we’re sure that this is going to be a problem for him. If he does, and then causes more problems, that could strongly inhibit his ability to move up the ladder a little bit more.

Officer Nolan kicks off his birthday by babysitting a crime scene at a law office. Meanwhile, Officer Bradford and Officer West are set to receive special awards, and Sgt. Grey rides patrol with Officer Harper after she requests an early annual evaluation.
So what excites us the most about this episode? It is largely the opportunity to be able to see some interesting stories for almost every characters — and there could even be some humor in here, as well! Bradford and West have done some great work, and there is absolutely no denying that. Yet, at the same time just because you do great work doesn’t necessarily mean that you now how to handle commendation! Maybe this leads to some goofy moments, or maybe it’ll just lead to the honor getting to their heads.
Remember this leading into The Rookie season 2 episode 8 — the show still needs your help to ensure that it comes back for more new episodes! The ratings for last week’s installment were the lowest of the season, so it does have some work cut out for it to ensure that there is a third season at any point in the future.
