Outlander filming notes: More new behind-the-scenes teases!

Outlander season 4

We are firmly within the home stretch of Outlander season 5, and that does mean that we’ll be seeing cast and crew members wax poetic about it before long. While some of them at this point may be used to being on set, that certainly does not mean the experience is any less special! It’s the end of another era in Scotland, dealing with the temperatures, the winds, and the rain together. We have to imagine that this serves as a bonding experience almost like no other.

For one look at what it’s like preparing to play a character on location, check out the new behind-the-scenes image HERE of Duncan Lacroix preparing to take on the role of Murtagh. We’re assuming that he is going to have a significant arc moving into the new season, especially given the decision that Jamie now finds himself forced to make. Is he going to side with his friend and risk conflict with the British, or is he going to side with the British, leading potentially to the death of his friend? We think we know which way that Jamie is going to go with this … but the process of watching him figure out how to navigate this decision could prove interesting in its own right.

If you do want to get some more teases of life behind-the-scenes specifically today, just pay Lauren Lyle’s Instagram a visit! She’s got a tease today involving a horse, but then also one outside the show’s trailers. It’s a glimpse of a couple of the different elements of production — it’s not all exactly what you see on the small screen when new episodes air.

Of course, this is the perfect time to send you a reminder that Outlander season 5 is going to premiere on February 16; we’re sure there will be more teases beforehand.
