Outlander notes: More Caitriona Balfe – Sam Heughan red carpet fun
It’s been a few busy days in the Outlander world, and to think, it could’ve been even busier if Caitriona Balfe could travel at the speed of sound!
In a post on Instagram tonight, Caitriona expressed that she couldn’t be at the present event for her new film Ford v. Ferrari due to her shooting schedule for the series — yet, she did post a fun little video tribute to the car racing-themed movie. We do think that Balfe will have some chances to do more press for the movie, given that there is a good chance it could play out through the awards-show circuit over the next several weeks.
Ford v. Ferrari is going to be premiering on November 15, and we’re looking forward to seeing all sorts of great stuff from Caitriona when it comes to it!
Another interview with Sam and Caitriona from the BAFTA Scotland Awards
Just in case you didn’t know already, the two actors (alongside Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin) were present at the BAFTA Scotland awards this weekend, and they did a number of interviews with various publications. That includes BBC’s The Nine, where they opened up how important it is for them to represent Scotland in a positive light. Outlander as a show has been a real beacon for the rest of the world — it’s inspired tourism and also a real interest in the history of the region.
Even though Outlander as a story may not be technically set in Scotland at the moment (North Carolina is what they are trying to emulate), it still is the production home base. It’s the source of much of the show’s soul. Everyone from the cast and crew onward have, to date, been tremendous ambassadors for everything Scottish.
What do you want to see on Outlander season 5?
