The Good Doctor season 3 episode 7 spoilers: The ‘SFAD’ story
We know that he is exceptional in the medical field — he can identify diseases and operate better than almost everyone. Yet, we also know that Shaun’s biggest weakness is a lack of social ability. He’s not always able to relate to or understand the plight of his patients, and that doesn’t always make some of them want to trust him. Rather than want to work with him, instead they are more interested in going elsewhere.
Yet, moving into this episode, we have a feeling that we’re actually going to be seeing a patient who needs Shaun’s help from a personal standpoint. He makes a connection to a patient and, because of that, we could have an ending that leads to all sorts of discussions.

Dr. Shaun Murphy’s unique ability to relate to a patient isolated by an immune deficiency yields an unexpected result. Meanwhile, Dr. Claire Browne, Dr. Morgan Reznick and Dr. Marcus Andrews treat a 12-year-old patient who is about to become blind, and tension builds between Dr. Neil Melendez and Dr. Audrey Lim.
Every single story in this episode feels important, but the one that could have the most important long-term value is the one between Neil and Audrey. They’ve got a tough struggle trying to tow the line between being great doctors and having a larger relationship away from the hospital. That’s not easy, especially with the power dynamic that is in place, as well. We knew entering the season that there were a LOT of challenges ahead for the two, and this is mostly a chance to see some of that take hold.
