Arrow season 8 spoilers: Paul Blackthorne appearing in multiple episodes
According to a new report courtesy of TVLine, you are going to have a chance to see Paul Blackthorne, otherwise known as Quentin Lance, in multiple episodes before the series comes to a close. Quentin’s death back in season 6 was one of the more poignant moments of the show’s run. He died as a means of trying to help the Earth-2 version of Laurel Lance, someone who was not always keen on accepting him as a father figure. Nonetheless, his death set up more of a transformation for her character, and it was one of those meaningful moments that paid off over time. It wasn’t just something that was done for the sake of shock value.
With Blackthorne appearing we do think that Arrow is getting ever closer to satisfying every single person who we would want to see before the show officially came to a close. Just think in terms of some of the returns that we’ve had already, including Willa Holland, Josh Segarra, and Colin Donnell. Meanwhile, there’s also the aforementioned Emily and the chance to see Oliver reunite with some of this Flash friends on Crisis on Infinite Earths. If there is one major character who hasn’t been accounted for yet, it’s Slade Wilson — Manu Bennett was one of the most commanding presences throughout the series’ run, and it would be sad that he didn’t get a chance to be Deathstroke before the show comes to a conclusion. We’d also be bummed if we don’t see Katrina Law again as Nyssa, but given that she’s currently filming Hawaii Five-0, we don’t know if there is a way schedule-wise for everything to work out. That’s something that could be more of a last-minute surprise if it happens.
The news of Blackthorne’s return comes days after we learned that his new show, The InBetween, was canceled after only one season on NBC.
