Is Erica Gimpel leaving God Friended Me, role of Trish?
Before we say too much else about this subject, let’s note this: Arthur’s really screwed things up with his fiancée. It’s been his dream for a long time to become the Bishop for New York and when the opportunity presented itself, he took it. Yet, in doing so, he’s allowed himself to be in a position where he isn’t being upfront with the woman that he loves. He knew that he had to tell Trish the truth at some point, but why wait? Shouldn’t a man like Arthur know better? The problem is that he has spent so much of his life helping other people that, perhaps, he hasn’t focused enough on himself in delicate social situations.
Because Arthur wasn’t upfront with Trish about what he was considering, she didn’t take the news well when she learned what he was considering. As a matter of fact, she decided to head up to her farm rather than stay in the city at the end of the episode. There’s no guarantee that the wedding is even going to happen now, and that is going to create a state of unease among everyone.
Here is the good news, at least for the time being. There is no guarantee at the moment that Trish is leaving the show for good. Erica Gimpel is still listed as a regular in upcoming press releases, and because of this, we have a feeling that she will be back. While Trish may be upset, she does very much love Arthur and she’s already made that clear. With this in mind, we do think that the next order of business is going to be Arthur trying to show what matters the most to him. Will he need to step down as Bishop in order to keep his relationship? It may be something that he considers, but that doesn’t mean that it will happen in the end.
