As for what the reasoning for that is, it’s really so simple as the network just wanting to save more episodes for the future. There’s nothing that is so controversial here — they are re-airing the first episode for those who have not had an opportunity in order to see it already.

This is going to be an episode all about Shaun getting another chance to lead a surgery, which on paper sounds like an incredible proposition. Yet, Shaun is going to find himself in some trouble over the way in which he chooses to handle someone in his OR — a nurse who doesn’t hand scissors to him in the way that he’d like. Because of that, he throws her out of the room … and that’s a problem. It’s not a problem for the nurse; instead, it’s a problem for him. It’s another example of how his career could be on the line if he doesn’t figure out a way to change.

There’s no doubt that Shaun Murphy is one of the best surgeons out there. Yet, at the same time he’s got some work to do socially. His skill is unparalleled, but that’s not enough to be successful. You need to be able to lead a team, ones who won’t always be on the same page as you.
