Watchmen episode 3 spoilers: Who’s in charge now?

Watchmen

Moving into Watchmen episode airing on HBO next week, we’re starting to get a larger shape of what the world looks like. That means understanding how the police world works, and then also some of the other notable characters who will shape everything the longer this season lasts. The “Lord of the Manor,” if you want to call him that, may end up having a very larger shadow looming over just about everything.

The more we get a chance to see the story accelerate — especially when it comes to Lord’s plans — the more incredible that Watchmen will end up being.

Want a few specifics? Below, CarterMatt has the official Watchmen episode 3 synopsis with some more information as to what’s coming up:

Following a late-night visit from the senator who authored Masked Policing Legislation in Oklahoma, FBI agent Laurie Blake heads to Tulsa to take over the recent murder investigation; The Lord of the Manor receives a harshly worded letter.

In the promo for what is coming up next? You get a pretty good sense as to just who Laurie Blake is — and also how she means business upon her arrival. She doesn’t mince words or deal with a lot of excuses. She just wants to preserve her own vision of the world — and also the FBI’s. More than likely, there are going to be some differences between how the federal government feels about the state of things in Tulsa and then how the city itself feels. Even in a comic-book adaptation, you can still see stories about local versus federal governments.

Will there be some more comic-book references in episode 3? Based on early indications, we’re starting to think so. Even if this is a continuation of the classic series, it does look to nod back to the original as much as it can.
