Supergirl season 5 episode 4 sneak peek: The Malefic showdown

Are you ready for Supergirl season 5 episode 4 to arrive on The CW? Well, know this: You’re going to be seeing it in just a matter of 24 hours! This episode, entitled “In Plain Sight,” is going to be in part about a plan. It’s one where J’onn and some other characters can feel as though tensions are calmed between him and his brother Malefic.

But, is such a thing even possible? We’re not sure since the tinge of betrayal at the moment is massive. Think about this way — J’onn wiped himself clean of his brother. Malefic feels betrayed and alone — most of his motives are fueled by anger. It’s not going to be easy to take him out, and he’s skilled enough to prepare for almost any onslaught … including the one that seems to be thrown at him on this particular episode.

In the sneak peek below courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, you are going to see a well-formulated attempt at a plan in order to ensure that Malefic is taken down. J’onn did his part to both mask himself and also Kara … but it wasn’t enough in order to contain him. Or, at least that’s the way in which things appear to be at the moment.

What makes this particular showdown so different is that Malefic, clearly, cannot be contained in the way in which some other adversaries can. Also, his ties to J’onn make him even more of a delicate foe. You don’t want to do anything to devastate some of these family bonds for good, and that is something that you have to be prepared to watch unfold. We don’t foresee that this is going to be the sort of storyline that lasts all season long, but one thing still feels clear: The emotional ramifications are going to be enormous. It could stick with David Harewood’s character, even if Malefic himself isn’t present.

While this storyline will be important, it won’t be the only one! Also within this episode, be prepared for an enormous storyline that puts William Dey at the center of Kara’s questioning.
