The Blacklist season 7: Who is Daniel Hutton in ‘Kuwait’?
Well, at the start of tonight’s episode, Cooper ended up learning that Hutton was actually alive — that grave that existed at Arlington National Cemetery was actually an empty one. Cooper told Reddington that Hutton escaped captivity one week beforehand, and he had a new mission — free Hutton at all costs. Cooper set out with Reddington overseas to free Hutton and then, soon after that, figure out how to best do the “right thing” in this situation.

Here’s the irony — Daniel Hutton was found but, in the process, we learned that he’s not exactly who he claimed to be. He was someone who wanted vengeance over what happened in the past. As it turns out, Cooper became a captive of the infamous Sumoon. He was a criminal, someone who turned to that life after feeling betrayed and cut off from much of the world that he once knew.
Cooper, so many years ago, betrayed Hutton — he left him to die many years ago in Kuwait, and on the other side of that he chose to stay silent. He was willing to move forward and advance his career.
Also in this episode, Cooper seemingly admitted to Reddington that he is Ilya Koslov — yet, this may have just been a front. Through helping Cooper, Reddington seemed to buy him some loyalty. Cooper didn’t tell Main Justice the truth about Ilya Koslov. Instead, he seemingly confirmed his own personal truth to Panabaker.
Who knew that Reddington’s story with Harold Cooper tonight was mostly about him helping him? These two forged a larger bond in this episode … so much more than we expected.
Meanwhile, Katarina Rostova took it upon herself in order to be Liz Keen’s temporary nanny. We knew that she was up to something beyond just Agnes, but what was it? As it turns out, she had some information that she was trying to obtain. As it turns out, what Katarina found the information that she needed — a photo of Ilya Koslov.
