The Crown season 3 posters: See Tobias Menzies, Olivia Colman, more!
So while you wait, why not go ahead and check out some of the newest season 3 character posters? If you look below, you can see via Netflix some beautiful shots of Elizabeth (Olivia Colman), Philip (Tobias Menzies), Princess Anne (Erin Doherty), Princess Margaret (Helena Bonham Carter), and Prince Charles (Josh O’Connor). This is a new era for the series, one in which you have new actors stepping in to play all of the different roles. This is the next generation of Elizabeth’s reign and now, there are going to be even more challenges that the Crown is faced with. Think along the lines of an increasingly larger and obtrusive press, the state of the British economy, more international conflicts, and just the perception of the throne itself.
Will Great Britain remain a world power? That is something that Elizabeth may wonder to herself during this season — among, of course, a number of other things, as well.
We know that season 3 is going to build heading into season 4, and that season will feature prominently Princess Diana and a number of other key stories. (One of the more exciting casting propositions is seeing The X Files alum Gillian Anderson stepping into the role of Margaret Thatcher.) We’re also hoping that there is a shorter wait time between the end of one season and the start of the next, mostly because of the oh-so-simple fact that there’s no need to recast and it seems as though production of the two seasons is bleeding into each other.
