Saturday Night Live: Harry Styles to host, be musical guest
In a new post on Twitter, musician-turned-actor Harry Styles confirmed that he will be appearing as both the most and musical guest for November 16. Styles’ confirmed hosting gig goes alongside some of the other valuable information we know about the hosting lineup to come — you’ll be seeing Kristen Stewart host the upcoming November 2 episode, and in December, Eddie Murphy will be making a return to host the for the first time in decades. There’s a lot of excitement and ambition with some of what SNL is doing this season; we just have to hope that it pays off and we get some truly great episodes. We’re not sure we are at a point so far this season where you can say that. It’s been more of an assortment of good sketches sprinkled in with some that you would quickly forget.
The timing for Styles’ appearance is no coincidence, given that he is launching new music this fall — it’s brilliant cross-promotion for him, and we’re sure for SNL, they love some of the international promotion that he will bring to the table. Harry is one of those artists who has a truly international following — even if some people out there will watch for Harry’s performance, they may have a chance to see some funny sketches and become hooked on the series along the way.
