Riverdale season 4 episode 4 spoilers: Halloween gets a little scary

Riverdale

Riverdale season 4 episode 4 is all about Halloween, and there’s absolutely nothing that we would want more for something airing on October 30.

When you think about it, doesn’t this show always have Halloween in its DNA in the first place? Think about it — there are going to be a ton of people out there sporting Riverdale costumes, and there’s always an air of mystery hovering around this show. We’ve got new mysteries around every corner, suspicious characters, and reasons aplenty for people to be afraid. Creepiness was one of the original pitches that was here when Riverdale as a series first started.

If you are interested in getting a few more teases for what lies ahead, why not check out the full Riverdale season 4 episode 4 synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below:

HALLOWEEN IN RIVERDALE – When ominous videotapes begin appearing on doorsteps across Riverdale, widespread fear quickly returns to the town. At Stonewall Prep, Jughead (Cole Sprouse) learns about a series of mysterious disappearances that have occurred to former students at the school. Meanwhile, Archie’s (KJ Apa) plan to create a safe space for the town’s kids gets derailed when some unwanted visitors crash their Halloween party. Elsewhere, Veronica (Camila Mendes) comes face to face with trouble, while Betty’s (Lili Reinhart) past comes back to haunt her. Lastly, a haunting a Thistlehouse rocks Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) and Toni (Vanessa Morgan) to their core. Madchen Amick, Skeet Ulrich, Casey Cott and Charles Melton also star. Erin Feeley directed the episode written by Janine Salinas Schoenberg (#404.) Original airdate 10/30/2019.

While we’re pretty sure that there are some stories around in this episode (see Jughead’s) that will have some long-term ramifications, we’re actually kinda hoping that there are some others that are rather standalone in nature. A part of what makes a Halloween episode great is the rewatchability of it. There’s something nice about being able to come back and check something out after the fact. There should be something that is fun and relatable … but also something that is scary. Plenty scary. The sort of thing that only a high-school series like Riverdale could pull off.
