The Blacklist season 7 episode 4 sneak peek: Who is Daniel Hutton?
Technically, the character of Daniel Hutton was referenced before as recently as the premiere, when Reddington confirmed to Cooper that he was, in fact, alive under the care of French “authorities.” This is someone who shared a history with these two characters back in Kuwait … and their story is going to play a rather-interesting role in everything that is coming up in this episode.
Why is that? Well, the sneak peek below confirms that Hutton is actually somehow still alive! It doesn’t seem as though Cooper was ever aware of this; for Reddington, however, there’s a little bit more of a mystery all around this.

One of the questions that you have to wonder here with Hutton is how their survival could be used as a part of the story. After all, he could be tied to some sort of big, devastating secret that exists within the world of Cooper’s past. He may not want this out there, mostly because there may have been some bad decisions that he made in the past.
While it may not be an easy thing to think about, the reality here is this — Cooper isn’t a perfect person or a perfect government employee. He’s flawed like every other character in the world of this show. It’s possible that his actions in Kuwait are why he is the way that he is now … and he never thought that he was going to have to reckon with some of those spirits again. Yet, here we are, and this episode could be all about Cooper on the verge of chaos.
