Blue Bloods season 10 episode 5 promo: Eddie’s undercover challenge

Entering Blue Bloods season 10 episode 5 this coming Friday, one of the things that is clear is the daunting task that lies ahead for Eddie. She’s taking on difficult cases before, but this one feels different. After all, she’s going undercover, and in a way where there’s not going to be much in the way of support around her. That’s what comes with infiltrating a cult and hoping that you can get some answers to everything you’re seeking.

The promo gives you somewhat of a sense of the danger that Vanessa Ray’s character is in — this is a cult that has seemingly murdered someone already, and while she dons her disguise and creates her persona, this can’t be far from her mind. What’s interesting to us is that this cult feels almost like something straight out of Pretty Little Liars, where Ray played one of the most notorious characters of all in “A.” Now, she gets to be the role of someone looking to understand the mystery as opposed to one of its purveyors.

While there is no guarantee that Eddie will find success in her pursuit here, it does feel as though she’s getting good support from everyone around her. Just look, for example, at the amount of support Erin is handing to her — Erin seems to be the one who brings her the case. It also seems like Frank may have her back, though admittedly the promo may be taking a different Frank moment out of context.

No matter what happens in episode 5 (which is titled “The Price You Pay”), we are at least personally happy we’re getting something more for Ray after Eddie was pretty diminished insofar as her role in this past episode. We know that this tends to happen here and there on Blue Bloods, but it still stinks.
