‘Downton Abbey’ season 3: Has [spoiler] secured first post-show role?

It’s hard when you leave a show after several seasons on the job, but it may be a little bit easier when you can carry over to something else that is not only extremely popular, but in some ways considered a step into the next phase of your career.

For “Downton Abbey” star Jessica Brown Findlay, it is looking more and more like this new phase could very well be coming up soon. According to the Daily Express, the actress is the frontrunner to win the lead role in the upcoming “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” over such actors as “Game of Thrones” star Emilia Clarke and Alison Brie of “Community” fame. What we really do not understand, though, is the argument that Findlay could be more popular due to her show’s popularity, especially since both Brie and Clarke also have extremely loyal followings, especially in America.

Nonetheless, we do hope that Jessica is able to secure a new role for herself soon, especially given the great sadness that came along with the stunning end to Sybil on the show earlier this year. Her death was something that we never saw coming, but due to that, many of the show’s characters (including Tom and even her sisters) are being forced to an extent to rethink major parts of their lives. There are only two episodes left this season to go along with the Christmas special which is especially an even that many are looking forward to.

What do you think about this new potential casting for Findlay, and do you want to see her become a major movie star after her work on the show?
