The Blacklist season 7 episode 3 sneak peek: Who are Le Fleurs du Mal?

On The Blacklist season 7 episode 3 on Friday, you’re going to Elizabeth Keen eager to find out some answers. In particular, she wants to know who the mystery woman is who abducted Reddington and stirred up all of the drama around Katarina Rostova. She hasn’t quite pieced it together that this woman is Katarina herself, and Reddington, in his typical/cryptic fashion, isn’t offering up that many clues or a genuine peek behind the curtain.

Instead, what you have in the sneak peek below is Reddington doing his best to set up the latest Blacklisters — the ones in the very title of this episode. We knew that Le Fleurs du Mal was the title of an infamous book of poets, but little did we know the secret organization at the heart of this episode took their name from this group. Who are they? In Raymond’s own words, they are misanthropes, people who have everything and because of that, they have nothing. They’re a secret society of scumbags who use their power in order to manipulate situations and cause chaos all over the globe. They are vile, and according to Reddington, they are going to help Liz connect some of the dots.

Yet, this entire ordeal feels like a silly wild-goose chase since Reddington already knows who the woman is. So why do this sort of stuff to Liz and the Task Force? It could be to distract them while you go about your business in trying to get Katarina out of your hair over what she’s trying to get — information on the Townsend Directive. Of course, it’s also possible that Le Fleurs du Mal are connected in some way to information that Reddington wants — there is typically an ulterior motive to almost every single one of Reddington’s plots. We like to imagine that there is something similar going on here, as well. The struggle for Liz will be trying to figure that out.
