The Resident season 3 episode 5 return date: Plane crash aftermath

All signs point at the moment to The Resident season 3 episode 5 being one of the biggest of the whole season. Why? It starts with a plane crash, and then goes from there into how all of the characters respond to it — and rest assured, there are a lot of different responses. That includes Devon feeling remorseful about some decisions made beforehand, and then Dr. Bell doing everything that he can to be the hero after the fact. We’ve seen this man be more occupied with other things that being the good guy … but he’ll be angling for it here.

Unfortunately, the hard part about this episode is going to be waiting for it. Because of the World Series, there is no new episode airing on Fox next week, and while episode 5 (entitled “Choice Words”) is scheduled for October 29, that could change. If the World Series goes long, it may not air until November 7 … but this is definitely an installment worth waiting for.

After a plane crashes in Atlanta, Devon is overcome by guilt at the thought that he could have prevented the tragedy. Bell, who was a passenger on the plane, makes it his personal mission to save the life of the man seated next to him. Meanwhile, Adaku (guest star Erinn Westbrook) returns to ask Mina a big favor, the Raptor struggles with telling his birth parents about meeting his biological father and Conrad and Nic consider risking it all to investigate a drug that might be linked to Jessie’s death in the all-new “Choice Words” episode of THE RESIDENT airing Tuesday, October 29th on FOX.

This feels like one of those big episodes of The Resident that you are going to remember for many months to come, and it also feels like one that a lot of medical dramas should be bold enough to take on. Sure, you can place your doctors within a traditional hospital, but isn’t it also worthwhile to see how they function elsewhere?
