The Flash season 6 spoilers: Don’t expect Caitlin – Ramsey romance

Flash season 4

We’re at this point one episode into The Flash season 6, and with that in mind, you’ve already gotten to know Dr. Ramsey Rosso. He’s a brilliant man, but also one whose view of mortality is going to prove dangerous over time. We know already that he’s going to eventually adopt the persona as Bloodwork, a powerful villain who will be the biggest adversary leading into the Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover event.

Beyond just this, one of the other things that we know about Rosso is this: He’s got a history with Caitlin Snow. The two have known each other for years, but we wouldn’t quite call their first encounter in the premiere cordial throughout.

For anyone thinking that this story is going to somehow turn romantic, though, don’t worry about that — after giving Danielle Panabaker’s character three different love interests in the first three seasons, the show is moving in a different direction. Speaking via TV Guide, Sendhil Ramamurthy sums up Rosso’s relationship with Caitlin in the following way:

I think that a lot of people are probably expecting it to be like a romantic thing, and it’s totally not … It is a really close, like a brother-and-sister-type bond that Caitlin and Ramsey have. And those scenes that I got to do with Danielle, they’re really cool. They’re really very sweet in a lot of ways.”

It’s too bad that almost all of this sweetness will eventually turn sour. If there’s a group of people who know already just how dangerous experiments and advance can be, it is Team Flash. That is why they were so cautious with the cure throughout most of season 5. While the idea of living forever and cheating death may seem appealing to someone like Rosso, that doesn’t mean that it is either feasible or right. Suffice it to say, the folks over at The Flash are thinking about twists and turns when it comes to Rosso’s experiments … and they probably thought about the arc long before they even cast Sendhil.

Given his work on heroes, let’s just say that we’re glad the character is around.
