Dynasty season 3 premiere: Is Adam Huber leaving? Is Liam alive?

Dynasty

On tonight’s Dynasty season 3 premiere, we entered it with one key question: Is Liam alive? Is Adam Huber leaving or sticking around?

We understand entering the episode that there was a LOT of enthusiasm around getting an answer, just as there’s been a lot invested into the relationship between Liam and Fallon already. We want to see something work out here, but we have to take things one step at a time! The first order of business is, of course, just learning if the character is sticking around.

Well, here’s the good news — as it turns out, Liam is going to be sticking around. Yet, the road won’t be easy. Him being in critical condition in the early going is one of those mixed-bag reveals — it’s one of those situations where you can be really thrilled that the character is around, while at the same time still be concerned about his future. He may face major medical setbacks, and this could be the sort of stuff that tests him first, and then the relationship that he has with Fallon second.

For now, though, the idea of Liam being in a coma feels like the perfect sort of soapy twist for a show like this — they can do a lot with it over time, and they can also establish a mystery that lasts for a good while. Do we think that there could’ve been more serious moments spread throughout this episode? Sure, especially since there was some stuff with Liam/Fallon that was played for comedy.

In the end, remember this — Dynasty is in the midst of a LONG season. With that in mind, there is a lot of room for the writers to explore so many twists and turns … think in terms of the story darting off in a million different directions. Liam could be a part of some of them, but not necessarily all of them.
