Magnum PI season 2 episode 4 spoilers: Aaron Donald guest stars!

Entering Magnum PI season 2 episode 4, we had a good sense already that Aaron Donald was going to be guest-starring. The Los Angeles Rams’ defensive superstar was spotted on set earlier this year, and the opportunity to get him back on the show is very much a great one. Think about it this way — it’s some cross-promotion, but it’s also a chance to bring something different to this show.

Of course, we do have some questions as to why Aaron Donald is in Hawaii in the middle of the season … but just remember that this episode was filmed prior to games getting underway. Also, there’s no guarantee that Rick and TC even spend all of their storyline tied to Donald in Hawaii!

For some more news on what’s coming, just be sure to check out the official Magnum PI season 2 episode 4 synopsis below:

“Dead Inside” – When Katsumoto suspects that one of his fellow cops is dirty and has stolen evidence, he begrudgingly asks Magnum and Higgins for help. Also, Rick and TC help Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald when his tablet, that contains the Rams’ playbook is stolen, on MAGNUM P.I., Friday, Oct. 18 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Seeing Donald is going to give us a great opportunity to have some fun within the world of the show. Yet, there’s also some other stuff worth celebrating here! For starters, we’re always down to see Tim Kang get a big story as Katsumoto, especially since he is the anti-Magnum in a lot of ways. He doesn’t always approve of his methods and the two have very similar styles but, in the end, they’re able to get the job done.

Finally, there’s just hearing in this synopsis that Higgins is still a part of the show. While we were always confident to some degree that the character would stick around the show — it wouldn’t be the same without her — we’ve seen enough primetime scripted series to know that there can be cast changes that happen. Just look at MacGyver, where George Eads departed during the third season as Jack. Sometimes, you just have to go with the flow with these shows, but for Magnum PI, the flow just happens to be the same one that we’ve seen for the better part of the past year-plus.
