The problem that SNL routinely faces here is that, of course, they have to find a way to spoof some of the well-known people who are out there in the world. That’s especially the case when you think about politicians. We just wish that sometimes, there was a slightly more creative angle taken with it. You can say something about the political world without going for a straight-up impersonation. Are there any Mike Pence jokes that the world hasn’t heard before in some shape or form?
The one last thing that we’ll say when it comes to Broderick as Pompeo is this — is it possible that most of the country even knows what Pompeo sounds like? That’s what we were thinking about for most of this.
