Outlander season 5: Teaser reveal, New York Comic-Con panel updates!
Throughout this article, we’re going to have some more updates of the convention proceedings as time goes on. Be sure to refresh the page over the course of the show! The panel is happening at the Hulu Theater today, moderated by Ginger Zee of Good Morning America.
5:34 p.m. Eastern – Richard Rankin and Sophie Skelton are filming in Scotland, but they were a part of a pre-taped video segment where they read some various questions from set.
5:38 – We have a teaser! Within this, we had a chance to see at least some of the central themes of the upcoming story explored — think along the lines of the Revolutionary War looming, alongside some other struggles including Claire, Roger, and Bree wondering whether or not this is the right place for them. Remember, there is a chance for them to go back into the present!
5:39 – One of the stories for Roger and Bree this season is Roger trying to get accustomed to this world, while Bree also deals with the aftermath of the assault.
5:44 – There was a nice conversation about Murtagh, and how, per Heughan, everyone wants a Murtagh in their life. He’s such a supportive presence in some ways, and Duncan Lacroix feels like this is the best performance that he’s done.
5:47 – Sam and Caitriona joked about becoming producers this season, and seeing more of the behind-the-scenes work that happens leading up to production. They claim that “observing and learning” were to of the things they emphasized the most in their new roles.
5:49 – Sam discusses the bond that Jamie and Claire have forged over the years, and how they are stronger than ever now that they understand each other so well.
6:03 – There isn’t a lot of new hints about what’s coming on season 5, other than reminders that the Big House will be there — and hopefully spectacular.
