Which Better Call Saul star is appearing in Breaking Bad Movie?

Better Call Saul season 5 is going to be coming on AMC in the new year, and while you wait around to check that out, there’s also El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie. We don’t think that we need to tell you what the anticipation is like for that at the moment — it’s more or less through the roof. It’s a chance to (finally) learn what happened to Jesse Pinkman following the flagship edition of the AMC series, and there may be some familiar faces who turn up along the way.

Yet, amidst the sea of familiarity within the movie, we didn’t really expect someone from within Better Call Saul to turn up … but that was before Jonathan Banks spoke out. Speaking recently via ET Canada, the actor behind Mike Ehrmantraut made it clear that he would be returning to the role in some capacity … though he didn’t make it clear how exactly it will happen. Given that Mike is technically dead within the present-day timeline, general wisdom would imply that you will see him turn up in flashbacks. There may be some interesting scenes between Mike and Jesse that are fun to explore, even if it’s not 100% as of right now what some of those scenes would look like.

We love Banks, and with that in mind we’re going to be stoked to see him in just about every shape/form possible. Yet, at the same time we would caution against El Camino going completely nuts in regards to making it into a parade of familiar faces from the other two shows in this universe. It’s Jesse story in the present, and because of that there may be a lot of new faces who turn up just as often as you do see some people from the past.
