NCIS (Tony & Ziva) vs. Legends of Tomorrow (Sara & Ava) – ‘Shiptober poll

Welcome to ‘Shiptober 2019! Throughout the month of October, CarterMatt will be bringing you our annual tournament featuring some of best ‘ships in all of TV. What is a ‘ship? It is comprised of characters you want to see together romantically. Maybe they’re already together, or maybe they’ve never been together. It doesn’t matter. ‘Shipping is one of the most popular parts of any TV fandom, it’s super fun and this tournament is a celebration of that.

You can argue that with this battle, waiting is the name of the game. With Ziva back on NCIS, it’s time to reintroduce her and Tony to the ‘Shiptober battle — even if they haven’t seen each other in years. Meanwhile, their competition in Sara & Ava on Legends of Tomorrow have seen each other more recently … but we’ll be waiting to see what’s next for them until early 2020. Both are fantastic in their own way, and it’s going to be hard to pick out the winner in advance!

Voting Rules – Voting will be underway in the poll below from now until Tuesday, October 15 at 1:00 p.m. Pacific time. Vote however often you’d like! (For more voting instructions or technical questions, check out the bottom of this article for answers.)

Tony & Ziva, NCIS (#4 seed) – What we have here is a case of a couple that, almost certainly desperately wants to be together. (We don’t know anything for sure from Tony’s point of view, but we’re sure that it’s there.) The big thing that the two have to figure out now is the means and the opportunity to make that happen with everything Ziva is going through. We want to believe that it will, though, and to go along with that, we’re sure that NCIS will let us see it … if there’s any hope in the world, anyway. How great would that reunion be?

Sara & Ava, Legends of Tomorrow (#5 seed) – Avalance is a fun relationship at times, but also a breathtakingly real one despite the fact that one of them is a once-dead time-traveling captain and the other one is effectively a mass-market clone from the future who is so much more than just her superficial appearance. If you want to watch a prime example of how to tell a great relationship story in an hour, “The Eggplant, the Witch & the Wardrobe” from earlier this year is it — a million times over. It’s about loving one another, but also yourself.
